
McGown, Rogers Win Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon

Over 2,000 runner start the 29th annual Georgetown to Idaho
Springs Half Marathon. This half marathon is the largest in the
state, due to it's downhill scenic course, outstanding awards,
and cheap entry fee ($30). All proceeds from this event go to
help fund the Clear Creek Boosters Club budget.
James McGown of Sidney, NE easily won the race, crossing the
line in 1:09:22.
Jason Siatta of Parker and Robert Weiner of Evergreen battle
for second place near the halfway point. Siatta would pull away
to finish in 1:10:57. Weiner would finish third (first masters
runner) in 1:11:17.
Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier Patty Rogers of Lakewood
easily won the women's crown, crossing the line in 1:20:14.
Lori Zimmerman of Ceder Creek, TX was the second female. Lori's
time was 1:22:18.
Tanya Poel of Boulder moved into third place in the last mile.
Tanya was also the first masters finisher, running 1:22:37.
Bridget MacKinnon of Centennial finished a close fourth,
crossing the line in 1:22:49.
Jennifer White of Centennial and William White of Colorado
Springs start the race together in thier red, white and blue
shirts. William finished in 1:49:31 and Jennifer finished in
1:49:10.
