Nearly 600 runners and walkers traveld 3.1 miles down Upper Bear Creek Road to the Evergreen Lake House in the Evergreen Town Race 5K. This downhill course has the distinction of being the fastest 5K in Colorado as the men's course record of 14:07 is the fastest 5K run in Colorado. The female course record of 16:29 is only a few seconds from being the fastest female 5K run in Colorado. 18-year-old Kristen McGlynn, a state champion cross country runner from Platte Canyon High School, was the first female to cross the line. Kristen ran 17:27.

Ashley Birger of Colorado Springs also dipped under the 18 minute barrier, finishing second in 17:54.

John Supsic of Boulder ran neck and neck with the overall winner Adam Rich of Colorado Springs for three miles. However, Adam used his superior kick to cross the line in 14:56, while John came through in 15:04.

Lile Budden of Colorado Springs was second masters runner to cross the line, running 17:50.

Starting 3.1 miles farther up the road, 314 runners tackeled the 10K. Brianne Nelson of Ft. Collins was the first female to cross the line, running 36:52.

Kara Ford of Thornton was the second female, running 37:44.

John Gaudette of Denver was the overall winner of the 10K, running 32:48.

Adam Feerst of Denver was the first masters runner in the 10K, crossing the line in 35:19.
