1. Runners start out from the west parking lot of Aldefer/Three Sisters park in the Evergreen Mountain Trail Run. This 6 mile race took runners up the Wild Iris trail to the Ranch View Trail that runners followed over to the Evergreen Mountain Trail. They followed the eastern portion of this up and did a loop around around the Summit Trail befroe heading back to the start/finish area via the western portion of the Evergreen Mountain Trail and the Wild Iris Loop.

2. Adam Feerst leads eventual winner Mark Nessner at the bottom of the West Evergreen Mountain Loop.

3. Boulder's Colleen Straud is the first female to cross the line, running 47:08 and finishing fifth overall.

4. Racing trails is much more difficult than racing on the roads. If you want to pass a slower runner, you sometimes have to wait for the trail to open up a bit. THis was a good spot along the trail for that happen.

5. Some people will do anything for a camera! Who has the energy to jump like this while running down from the top of a mountain!

6. The good thing about the Evergreen Parks and Recreation Trail Series is that it is for all ages and abilities. Here, Mary Zulak runs down the trail towards a first place finish in the 60-64 year age group.
