Shaw, Gibbons win Easy Street Marathon

Daniel Shaw and Christine Gibbons were winners in the third running of the Easy Street Wheat Marathon. Shaw won the men's race in 2 hours, 38 minutes and 13 seconds ahead of runner-up Gannon White (2:42:50). Shaw repeated as the men's marathon winner, but his time was off the blistering pace he set a year ago in establishing the race record in 2:28:25. Gibbons claimed the women's race in 3:20:13 over the 26.2-mile course. Annette Krueger finished in 3:21:35.

Raul Carrizalez was the winner of the men's masters marathon race in 2:49:42.

In the CooperSmith's Half-marathon held in conjunction with the Easy Street Wheat race, Ben Payne took first place for the men's race in 1:09:20. Aaron Carrizales was second in 1:09:49. Peter Fleming was the men's masters champion in 1:10:33. In the women's half-marathon race, Katie Blackett (1:20:25) finished ahead of Tracy Stewart (1:23:39). Mercedes Gil won the masters race in 1:22:37.

First-place finishers in the marathon races earned $1,000. The winners received $500 for the half-marathon.

  6. Ray Rupel (3:25:35) finishes 27th

  7. Ben Basalay (3:23:55) finishes 26th

  8. Female masters winner Annette Krueger (355, 3:21:35) runs with John Roeske (4:00:30) at mile 19

  9. Sara Whitis (3:35:14) is 37th overall and the 8th female
