1. Runners and walkers start out from Elitch Gardens in the 2nd Annual Denver Gorilla Run. The Denver Gorilla Run is a charity fun run with a difference. Everyone who takes part wears a full gorilla costume - from fluffy head to furry toe - and helps raise funds (at $150 per entry fee) for the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund, the international charity working to save the world's last remaining mountain gorillas.

2. Though you may not be able to tell, these guys can actually run pretty fast. On the left is Josh Spiker, training in Colorado with the runner on the right, Jason Lunn of Longmont. Both runners are sub-four minute milers. The covered the 3 mile course in 14:30 in full Gorilla garb which runners get to keep after the race.

3. Some runners dressed up a bit.
