Several Records Set At Dash & Dine 5K Series

BOULDER, CO (May 9, 2006) - With a record number of entrants and good weather, the fifth race of the Dash & Dine 5K Series saw New Course Records on both the men's and women's side. Olympian Silvio Guerra set a new men's course record (15:26), while Kate Hamera set the women's course record (19:02) . The Fast Forward Sports training group helped set a record number of entrants for the race for the second time this series.

"I continue to be amazed at the turnout and support of this series" said sponsor Andy Genewick of Ultimate Direction. "People just love this race series and we are thrilled to be part of it." Ultimate Direction also awarded every finisher of the race a FREE water bottle which features the revolutionary Kicker Valve.

"This was a great night and Greg has done a wonderful job putting together this series. I'm so happy for him and excited about being a sponsor of the series" cheered Nicole DeBoom of Skirt Sports.

The Dash & Dine series begins with bib pickup at 5:30 p.m., race at 6:30 p.m. and cookout at 7:15 p.m. hosted by Salomon Sports and RocketHog Racing. Races will be held rain or shine.

The last race in the Dash & Dine series takes place next Tuesday, May 16 at Coot Lake in Boulder. There will be lots of awards, raffle prizes and of course the post-race cookout.

1. Silvio Guerra of Golden sets a new course record in winning the fifth Dash & DIne 5K of 2006 in 15:26.

2. Kate Hamera of Boulder also sets a course record in route to winning in 19:02.

3. Runners charge up the final hill to the finish.

4. 8-year-old Paul Roberts of Longomnt runs the 5K in 20:52.
