1. Paul DeWitt and Rick Hessek lead the pack at the start of the Danielesque Trial Marathon and Half Marathon. The race is a low key trail race run as a tribute to Daniel Rosenfeld. The course is all off road, follows the perimeter trails of White Ranch Open Space Park near Golden, CO and in a Danielesque way, adds extra distance to the traditional marathon (27.6M) and half marathon (13.8) distances.

2. Rick Hessek survived the 85 degree temperatures to win the marathon in 4:52:28. Not only did he have to deal with the heat and the sun, but he also had to deal with 5000' of elevation gain and loss,

3. Tammy Stone was the first female and second overall in the marathon, running 5:27:28.

4. Kaija Staley of Pueblo recieved the new Danielesque award for running extra distance. She got lost and added on about 4 miles. Amazingly, she still finished women and fifth overall in 5:32:42. Kaija must not like the shorter marathon trail distance as she also added on distance at the Leadville Trail Marathon in July!
