1. And they are off! Runners start off at Littleton's Hudson Gardens for the Air Life Memorial 10K and 5K. The scenic course, ran through the gardens and out onto the Platte River Trail, where runners got to see (and hear) the rushing waters. Of course, the 10K runners got twice as much scenery before returning to Hudson Gardens for the finish and post race expo, featuring local venders, Ambulances, and the Air Life Helicopter. This event honors all of our everyday EMS heroes and commemorates the AIRLIFE helicopter crash and related car accidents that occurred on December 14, 1997, in Littleton. The event began with the release of white doves.

2. 16-year-old Matt Prater squeaks out an 11 second victory in the 10K, running 38:11.

3. Jessica Wyant was the first female in the 10K, clocking 40:48.

4. Brian M. Glotzbach crosses the bridge at 2 miles, crusing to victory in 17:46.

5. Scott Kukel was the second finisher in the 5K, running 18:08.

6. Jena Pohle was the fastest female in the 5K, dipping under the 20:00 mark by running 19:43.

7. Barbarann Mallory was a close second in the 5K, also breaking 20:00, clocking 19:57.

8. 61-year-old Daryl Meyers was the fastest racewalker, completing the 5K in 30:17.

9. 44-year-old Marlene Graff was the fastest female in the 5K walk, covering the distance in 34:55.
