De Reuck, Wade capture USA Masters 10K titles
2004 U.S. Olympian Colleen De Reuck (Boulder, CO) and 2008 USA Masters Cross Country Champion Sean Wade (Houston, TX), led all contenders at the USA Masters 10K Championships, hosted by The Texas Round-Up Festival on Saturday in Austin, TX.
Laux holds on for victory at Cherry Creek Sneak (Rocky Mtn News)
While Nelson Laux (left, photo by John Leyba/Denver Post) had some company he couldn't shake during the 26th Cherry Creek Sneak on Sunday, Danielle Korb was all by herself. Laux ran nearly the entire 5-mile course with Payton Batliner before Laux broke away with less than a half-mile remaining to win the elite race in 24 minutes, 40 seconds, while Batliner finished second in 24:45.
Kenya and Russia Claim top Marks at Country Music Marathon
Kenya's Sylvester Chebii, 26, won the ninth annual Country Music Marathon in a time of 2:14:2. In the women's race, Svetlana Ponomarenko, 38, from Russia outkicked defending champion Olena Shurkhno, 30, from the Ukraine, finishing in 2:30:33.
