PPRR Winter Series 2 (Colorado Springs, CO)
It was a great day for running at the El Pomar Youth Sports Center in Colorado Springs. The second race in the Pikes Peak Road Runners Winter Series was a 4M and an 8M that ran out and back on the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail. The trail is pretty much a flat trail and was mostly clear of snow and ice and footing was fine. Loagn Waeling (44:43) and Hannah Green (58:20), both of Colorado Springs led the runners in the 8M. Jeff Turner of Colorado Springs (left) was the first runner in the 4M, running 21:55.

Frosty's Frozen Five 5M/10M (Littleton, CO)
A record crowd turned out on a beautiful morning at Chatfield State Park for the third annual Frosty's Frozen Five 5M and 10M. James McGown of Sidney, NE (left) won his second race in the Winter Distance Series as he led 281 people across the line in the 10M, running a course record 56:37. 282 people finished the 5M, led by Michael Johnson of Littleton (29:22) and Tania Pacev of Lakewood (35:44).

Gunnison's Michael Aish Wins P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon
TEMPE, Ariz. - (January 13, 2008) - New Zealand's Michael Aish, a resident of Gunnison, CO (left, photo by Brian Myers) ran to his first career marathon victory Sunday at the 5th P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon in a time of 2 hours, 13 minutes, 20 seconds.
Boulder's James Carney wins USATF Half Marathon title in Houston
James Carney of Boulder, Colo. (left, photo by Victor Sailor / PhotoRun.net) and Kate O'Neill (Palo Alto, Calif.) took the respective men's and women's titles at the USA Half Marathon Championships in Houston, Texas. Carney's time of 1:02:21 earned him his first USA championship win while O'Neill also won her first national title in 1:11:57.
