Regional Race Preview: Hoppin’ Half, 10K & 5K

hoppin' halfWith Easter coming up this Sunday, so does a plethora of spring-themed races, including this Saturday’s Hoppin’ Half, 10K and 5K in Stapleton. Formerly known as The Hippity Hop Easter Trot, the event features the three race distances, Kid’s Cottontail Fun Run, Old Fashioned Sack Race, Easter egg hunt, and a hoppin’ post race party. Funds from the event support the Denver School of Science and Technology.

Participants can anticipate sunny skies and cool morning temperatures, warming up throughout the day. All races will start and finish at Stapleton’s Central Park, and take runners along Westerly Creek and the Sand Creek Regional Greenway. Afterwards, awards will be given to the top finishers as well as the top age groupers in 10-year increments. All Kids Cottontail Fun Runners will receive prizes, as well both the tortoise and the hare.
