Announcing “Running for the Average Joe” eBook!

WattsRunning invites you to celebrate the release of the new running book, “Running for the Average Joe,” a motivational book for first time runners and those returning to the sport. “Running for the Average Joe” isn’t just another book about running. This book goes well beyond running and can show you how to help manage your stress, health, diet, and personal goals, and shows you how to live a happier and healthier lifestyle.

After years of intense research, new author Bill Watts takes us into every aspect of running from history, health and nutrition, strength and conditioning, and finishes out the book with training plans that can help runners of any skill level.

Watts originally began writing this book because of a void in the running book market space. Some books were written by elite runners and targeted for very skilled athletes, while other writers seemed to focus on “dummy” or “idiot” guides. This book introduces running as a life changing event that allows anyone to enjoy the physical, mental and emotional benefits that running can provide. It caters to all – fast or slow, large or small – average people that would like to increase their health and fitness. Bill presents this book of graphics, tables, charts and text, and delivers a powerful message in a format and language that’s easy to understand, despite some technical topics.

The foreword for the book is written by extreme endurance athlete Marshall Ulrich. You can read the forward here.

The first edition is being distributed in Adobe PDF format and is available for immediate download from his website and Facebook page. Paperback and hardcover versions are scheduled for later this year, and may also be distributed in Kindle reader format at a later date.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bill Watts is an avid outdoor enthusiast and experienced, but self-proclaimed “average” runner. Born in a small town in northwest Nebraska, he was involved in high school sports. He played football, baseball, and was on the wrestling and track teams but admits he absolutely hated running at that time. 25 years later, he entered his first 10k race and has since entered over 300 races, from 5k street races all the way up to 50k trail races. He’s raced in over 70 marathons and ultra-marathons in the past 15 years and estimates that he’s logged about 50,000 miles in that time.

Watts works in the Information Technology business as a Systems Engineer and resides in Colorado.
