This Saturday will mark the third and final race in Colorado Runner’s Winter Distance Series. The Snowman Stampede event will feature 10 mile and 5 mile race distances that start and finish at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado.
The past two events in the Winter Distance Series – the Santa Stampede and Frosty’s Frozen Five & Ten – have surpassed previous years in both registration numbers and course and event records. This Saturday’s race is sure to be an amazing time as Colorado Runner closes out its final Winter race and prepares for its event in the Spring: the Greenland Trail Races in May.
As usual, both distances in the Snowman Stampede follow the Platte River Trail from Hudson Gardens on a flat and fast course. The weather for this Saturday is looking just as seasonally warm as this year’s two past events, with temperatures looking to hover in the high 40’s and low 50’s in the morning, with a high of 60 during the peak of the day.
Last year’s event attracted some speedy runners. Check out 2012’s top finishers in the Snowman Stampede below.
