The Friends of the Denver Fire Department, the Fit for Wellness Program and the Denver Fire Fighters Burn Foundation present the 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk to be held this Sunday at Washington Park.
Last year’s race saw over 300 participants, and is sure to grow even larger this year. As temperatures are expected to be chilly in the morning, the sun will be out and participants can bask in a pristine Fall morning while supporting a great cause.
The course circumvents Wash Park and is known for its speedy times. Last year’s top times are posted below.
2011 Fit for Fire 5K Top Males
1. Matt Batliner – 17:09
2. Scott Tucker – 17:56
3. John Costello – 18:01
2011 Fit for Fire 5K Top Females

The mission of The Friends of the Denver Fire Department is to support Denver’s Fire Department by providing public education, through efforts to improve fire fighter safety and quality of life, and with direct resources to meet fire fighter needs thereby improving public safety in the City and County of Denver.
Because of the nature of their jobs, professional firefighters are often the first to come into contact with those who have suffered burn injuries. The Denver Fire Fighters Burn Foundation was formed to help burn victims with treatment, rehabilitation and return to ordinary life.
