Come hang out in Old Town Louisville this Saturday afternoon for the Louisville MonsterDash 5K!

The race will be held in conjunction with the Louisville Halloween Festival and will include family-friendly activities and events on a beautiful Fall day.

The second annual MonsterDASH 5K will be the 3:00pm feature as individuals take part in activities beginning at noon on Saturday.

The day will include:

  • Pumpkin Painting
  • Kids Festival
  • Live Music
  • Downtown Trick-or-Treating
  • Big Wheel Races
  • Post-Party at Old Louisville Inn
  • Kids Races
  • MonsterDASH 5K
  • Costume Contest

The 5k Run/Walk is a fun, challenging course with runners heading West on Spruce Street, then North and winding through intricate bicycle paths, crossing bridges, around a small lake and finishing on the downhill back into town.

The Monster Mini-Mile is for all ages and will be a ½ mile out-and-back course starting and finishing downtown as it heads up and down the tree-lined street of Spruce.

All the “Little Ghouls” (and their parents) can participate in the “Spooky Sprint” as little ones experience the thrill of racing as well. They, too, get to start at the black start/finish arch and will travel 50 yards up Spruce Street and will return right back at the finish to receive their finisher ribbon, glow bracelet, and special gift.

Those running or participating in the festivities can compete in the costume contest at 4:30pm.

Last year’s inaugural MonsterDASH 5K attracted some talented runners and top times.  Check out 2011′s results below.
