Color Me Rad 5K Covers the Denver Botanic Gardens in Color

Plumes of color erupted over and over again at the Color Me Rad 5K at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Reservoir.  Thousands upon thousands of participants arrived in clean, white garb before making their way through the color bomb trail and arriving at the finish line covered in color.

Although un-timed, the Color Me Rad 5K was a great opportunity for those young and old to take part in an exciting, fun and energetic event in a beautiful setting.  As parents threw color bombs at their children, teens threw color up in the air as event DJ’s excited the crowds and announced the wave starts.

The race was held on the trails of the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, and included multiple “color bomb” stops where race participants where doused with powdered color packets in blue, red, green, yellow, pink, and more.  Race waves went off every five minutes while participants enjoyed music and vendors at the start/finish line.

The event was a fun and opportune experience for non-competitive runners, friends and families alike to take part in a non-conventional 5K race in a pristine Fall setting.  The race has multiple tour stops all over the U.S. throughout 2012 and 2013.
