Olympians and World Champions Feature at BoldRunning Stars and Legends Event

With all the excitement of watching our sporting heroes of the London Olympic games, BoldRunning are presenting the chance to get up close and personal with some of the former Olympians and World Champions from the Boulder and Colorado running and Triathlon scene.

Many of the Stars and Legends planning to be at the event will include Olympians Matt Reed (Beijing 2008 – Triathlon) and Gary Staines (Soul 1988 – 5000m, G.B.), almost Olympians Benji Durden (Moscow 1980 – Marathon, USA boycott) and Trent Briney (Athens 2004 – Marathon alternate) and 1993 World Marathon Champion Mark Plaatjes.

A limited audience of 150 people will get to ask questions directly to the star panel of a total of 13 greats which will also include top long distance triathlon stars Richie Cunningham, ranked third in the World at the 70.3 distance, Joe Gambles, Ironman Wisconsin and Boulder 70.3 winner, plus one of the world best female cyclists, Giro Donne winner Mara Abbott, who is now transitioning to triathlon.

Other top names from the running world will include Boston Marathon Fourth placer Jason Hartmann, CU great and 2007 BolderBOULDER winner Sara Slattery, U.S.A World Marathon Championships team member Tera Moody, Olympics Marathon Trials qualifier and top Colorado runner Matt Levassiur and ultra-running legend Scott Jurek, multiple winner of the Western Sates 100 and Badwater Ultra.

The event will be held on Monday August 27^th starting 7:00pm at the Avery Brewery Barrel room in Boulder.

Tickets are now being sold to the public for $10.00 each with all proceeds going to benefit two animal based non-profits who desperately need help following the High Park Fire in Larimer County. The event is free to all current BoldRunning members.

Local sponsor of the event, BOOM Frozen Yogurt, will be hosting a raffle at the end of the evening for a chance to win prizes and perhaps even some of the Stars and Legends own memorabilia.

The event promises to be a fun and very memorable evening, with free beer on tap generously provided by event hosts, Avery Brewing Company.
