Runners began to see the light on Saturday morning as they lined up in Red Cliff for Stage 5 – the second-to-last stage – of the 2012 GORE-TEX® Transrockies Run. Their destination? Vail – the last stop and finish line before the finale in Beaver Creek on Sunday. The only thing in their way would be an epic 23.6 mile course taking them up 4,200 feet of elevation gain.
There would be no surprises during stage 5, as top teams over all divisions would continue their winning streaks to further widen the gap between their competitors. The only division that has seen some shuffling on the top is the 80+ Women division. Team Resilience would show their perseverance in stage 5 and win by over 13 minutes, widening the overall time difference between trailing Team Titanium by 10 minutes.
