The International Hearing Dog, Inc.’s inaugural Walk, Run and Wag 5K was held this past Saturday at Sloan’s Lake in Denver. The event attracted almost 50 participants and their canine friends for a beautiful lap around the lake.
Young speedster Brayden Quinn dominated the 5K run, finishing up in 18:46. Marlene Veum and her pooch, Marx, were the first female and dog to cross the line in 23:21.
The event is the first of its kind to raise support and funds for the International Hearing Dog, Inc. (IHDI) program. Race Organizer and Marketing & Development Coordinator for IHDI, Kelly Hennegan, hopes that this first race will stir up additional excitement for upcoming events to support the IHDI program, which helps train and match hearing dogs to those in need.
Stay tuned and check the IHDI website for upcoming events and canine-friendly fun!
