Erb, Ziherl Take Top Honors at the Strides for Epilepsy 5K

City Park was hopping on Sunday morning as thousands of runners and race supporters came out to The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado (EFCO) STRIDES 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run.

Possibly the best STRIDES event yet, the 5K race was seamlessly well-organized and the post-race celebration included live entertainment, food and drinks for the entire family, awards, prizes and even an “Ask the Doc” tent.

In the men’s 5K race, Brian Erb came away with the win in a time of 17 minutes flat.  Vincent Donofrio came in second in 18:08 and Adam Tewahade rounded out the top three with a time of 18:33.

In the women’s 5K race, Sarah Ziherl crossed the tape first in 20:10, with second place finisher Nichole Mairs coming in at 21:49.  Kasia Lundquist finished up third with a time of 22:09.
