The Colorado Masters Running/Racewalking Association played host to the annual Lake Arbor 5K on Saturday in Arvada. Chilly temperatures didn’t stop a small, albeit spunky crowd from completing two laps around a picturesque Lake Arbor and finishing up right alongside the lake’s edge. Jonathon Huie, winner of last Sunday’s Resolution Run, took the win in 16:06. Matt Nolen came in second at 17:22 and 16-year old Luis Ronquillo finished in third at 17:46. The women’s race was close, with first and second place finishers Mary Mihalko and Rachel Perez-Tetreault running side by side for the majority of the race. Mihalko prevailed with a winning time of 19:59, while Perez-Tetreault finished in 20:12. Third place finisher and Master Karen Voss finished in 21:35. The race, according to Race Director Ken Randall, has been taking place since the late 1980′s and will continue to be a staple in the CMRA race schedule.
