Huie, Fairchild Win 3W Resolution Run

The 1st annual 3W Resolution Run held at Memorial Park in Arvada not only drew some fast times on New Year’s Day, but also collected over 256 pounds of food to donate to the Arvada Food Bank. Chilly temperatures didn’t stop a women’s running group from Boulder from coming out and dominating the podium – Melody Fairchild took the win in the women’s race and second place overall in 17:21. Kathy Butler took second in the women’s race and third place overall in 17:33 and Deanna Ardrey took third in the women’s race in 17:42. The winner of the men’s race was Jonathan Huie in 15:56, with second and third place finishers Julio Hernandez and Zack Petrie coming in at 17:41 and 17:58, respectively. The newly founded 3W racing organization that hosted the event prides themselves on their unique take on races by “offering local races in partnership with local businesses which benefit local charities.”
