MapMyFITNESS Inc., a premier provider of online and mobile fitness apps, and Wahoo Fitness have partnered to integrate iMapMy apps with the Fisica ANT+ 30 pin Sensor Key, offering fitness enthusiasts the ability to track heart rate data using iPhone.
“We’re turning iPhone into a powerful tool that helps fitness enthusiasts achieve their health and fitness goals,” said Chip Hawkins, president of Wahoo Fitness.
The free MapMyFITNESS apps—iMapMyRUN, iMapMyRIDE and iMapMyWALK—use the built-in GPS technology of iPhone to enable users to record and chart their daily fitness activities and routes. The apps seamlessly interface with Fisica Sensor Key, a small device that plugs into the bottom of iPhone or iPod touch.
“This integration is an innovative, accurate and tremendously useful solution for those committed to living healthy and active lifestyles,” said Robin J. Thurston, chief executive officer of MapMyFITNESS. “Our partnership with Wahoo Fitness is a huge leap forward in turning iMapMy apps and iPhone into the ultimate fitness partner.”
Users simply put on an ANT+ compatible heart rate strap, plug in the Sensor Key, launch an iMapMy app and start their workout. Workout route, pace, time, calories burned and heart rate data can be saved to any of the MapMyFITNESS websites.
Newest versions of iMapMy apps that integrate with Fisica Sensor Keys are available now at iTunes. Sensor Keys may be purchased at http://www.mapmyfitness.com/shop.
